The most basic reason not to fast is if you simply don’t want to. No one should ever feel any stress about fasting or any compulsion to fast. Throughout the world people fast primarily for spiritual renewal or physical cleansing. It is an opportunity to let the system rest and reset. The thought process should be positive and encouraging. If you are not feeling this way it is best to refrain from the practice.
